Diversity in

STEM

I am dedicated to promoting and encouraging diversity and inclusion in STEM education, and challenging misconceptions about what it means to be a computer scientist.

SPARCS @ MSEN

The NC Math & Science Education Network (MSEN) works with students from around the triangle who will be first generation college students. MSEN hosts Saturday Academies where the Students in Programming, Robotics and Computer Science (SPARCS) curriculum consists of basic computer science concepts that include introductory programming, website development, and robotics.

I was a co-leader of SPARCS @ MSEN, and I came up with the lesson plans for each session.

Branding & Marketing

I created a new poster for the STARS student organization to use at recruiting events as well as a brochure with information about STARS. Images of my work can be seen on my Projects page.

Women in Computer Science @ NCSU's mission is to support, promote and retain women in computer science by providing opportunities for personal and professional development, social interaction, and outreach.

As an ambassador, I participated in outreach, recruiting, and teaching events targeted towards high school students interested in computing.
